Deputy Nursery Manager – Little Willows Kindergarten

Little Willows Kindergarten is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day running of our nursery.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious early years professional who is passionate about providing exceptional childcare and supporting a team to deliver outstanding learning experiences. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the nursery operates to the highest standards while creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where every child can flourish.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership and management of the nursery.
Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence, ensuring the smooth running of the setting.
Lead, motivate, and support the nursery team, promoting a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can learn, develop, and thrive.
Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare, health & safety, and hygiene throughout the nursery.
Support staff through coaching, supervision, inductions, appraisals, and ongoing professional development.
Monitor children's learning and development in line with the EYFS Framework.
Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals, encouraging strong parent partnerships.
Assist with staffing, rotas, recruitment, administration, occupancy, and quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with EYFS, Ofsted requirements, nursery policies, and all relevant legislation.
Support the maintenance of children's records, personnel files, and other nursery documentation.
Assist with promoting the nursery within the local community and supporting occupancy through marketing initiatives.
Help maintain high standards across the nursery, ensuring the environment is welcoming, well-resourced, and inspiring.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about early years education and ready to take the next step in their leadership career.

You will have:

A Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
A Level 2 Maths qualification (or willingness to achieve this).
Previous experience in a senior room leader, third-in-charge, deputy manager, or management role within an early years setting.
Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Framework, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding legislation.
A current safeguarding qualification.
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
A genuine passion for delivering outstanding childcare and supporting children's learning and development.
The ability to inspire, motivate, and develop others.
A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high standards throughout the nursery.
