OnFabrications (OnFab) is a dynamic UK-based sheet metal fabrication business, we are new to market, however, hold 100 years' experience in the markets we're build to serve. Armed with fresh thinking and an endeavour to improve service and outcomes in the world of fabrication, OnFab specialise in precision components for industries including commercial roofing, construction and broader fabrication markets.

We're a growing team passionate about quality craftsmanship and innovation, and we're looking for an enthusiastic Driver/ Fabrication Assistant to join our team and grow your skills in the fabrication industry while supporting our project delivery.

The Role:
As a Driver/ Fabrication Assistant, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication whilst playing a key part in getting our finished projects to clients on time. This hybrid role combines practical training in our workshop with delivery and site support, giving you a rounded understanding of the fabrication business from production through to customer satisfaction. You'll work alongside experienced team members, learning the craft whilst developing your professional skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
Drive completed fabricated items to client sites, ensuring safe transportation and careful handling of products.
Assist with site offloading, positioning and installation support where required.
Gain customer awareness by liaising professionally with clients during deliveries.
Undertake structured, on-the-job training in sheet metal fabrication techniques under the guidance of experienced fabricators.
Learn to operate press brakes, guillotines and associated fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
Assist with MIG/TIG welding and fabricating operations and learn welding techniques and best practices.
Support the fabrication team with component assembly, finishing and quality checking.
Read and interpret basic engineering drawings with guidance, developing understanding of technical specifications.
Demonstrate reliability, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

What We're Looking For

Valid, clean UK driving license.
Proven experience in driving larger vans and a variety of vehicles.
Aged over 25 years for Vehicle insurance purposes.
Ability to work flexible hours based upon delivery requirements, both on the road and in the Fabrication works.
A trustworthy individual who will take responsibility to look after the vehicle fleet.
Enthusiasm and genuine interest in learning sheet metal fabrication as a career.
A positive attitude, willingness to work as part of a team and commitment to health and safety.
Ability to work in a fast-paced workshop environment and manage time effectively.
Physical fitness and capability to handle sheet metal components and work at height where necessary under safe protocols.
Right to work in the UK essential.
Previous fabrication or workshop experience is beneficial but not essential-we're looking for potential and attitude.
Counterbalance Forklift license and experience are advantageous but not required.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., GCSE Maths and English, or NVQ Level 1 in Fabrication) are advantageous but not required.
