Full job description

About the Role

Main duties of the role will include:

Undertaking 15-minute F2F appointments with patients for routine and urgent problems
Acting as Duty Doctor once a week to assist with triage and ad hoc appointments with urgent patients.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards including the recording of appropriate information for QOF.
Occasional home visits.

In accordance with the practice schedule, you will make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties. These include face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, triage, checking and signing prescriptions, and dealing with queries in a timely fashion. Other duties will include;

Contributing to QOF requirements and recording data appropriately.
Assisting our Care Coordinators where required.
Developing care plans for health-realted illnesses.
Working across teams to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
Screening patients for health education.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes.
Sharing the completion of private medical reports etc with the other clinical staff.

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position, you will have the following;

Essential:

GMC registered with a licence to practice
Fully qualified GP on the GP performers list
Recent experience of working in primary care
Evidence of up-to-date appraisal
Experience of using SystmOne
Applicants must have current UK professional registration

About Us

Cobbs Garden Surgery is a friendly practice situated in the historic market town of Olney.
We look after the residents of the Olney and we also serve the surrounding villages.
The practice population is 9,000 patients
We are a training practice with GP registrars and medical students from Buckingham University.
We have weekly clinical meetings and monthly protected learning afternoons where our whole team meets to discuss current issues and shared learning.
Our multidisciplinary team is made up of a range of experienced clinicians including GP partners, salaried doctors, advanced nurse practitioners, a clinical pharmacist, a women’s health nurse, chronic disease nurses, treatment room nurses, HCA’s, phlebotomist and physiotherapist.
We are proud of our current CQC rating which is good with an outstanding rating for responsiveness.
We have a strong relationship with our Patient Participation Group, Town Council and local charity.
There is an excellent road network and we are close to the city of Milton Keynes with its excellent shopping and leisure facilities.
