We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented SMT Operators to join our production team.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes, particularly with placement machine feeder types, including tape and stick feeders.
This position plays a crucial role in setting up, operating, and monitoring SMT machines during the assembly process to ensure high-quality production output and optimal machine performance.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate surface mount technology (SMT) machinery to assemble electronic circuit boards.
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist with component placement, adjustments, and maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor production processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Perform routine inspections of assembled components, identifying defects or irregularities.
- Troubleshoot issues related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, following health and safety protocols.
- Assist with the calibration and maintenance of machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Document production activities accurately, including any deviations or adjustments made during operation.
Experience
- Previous experience with surface mount technology (SMT) assembly is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical or mechanical assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems is advantageous.
- Electrical experience or mechanical knowledge will be considered beneficial assets.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred but not essential.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
