Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 School Support Coach to provide personalised assistance to a student with diverse needs within a school environment. The pupil in question has a diagnosis of ASC but does not have significant behavioural dificulties.

The successful candidate will work closely with the child, supporting them both on and off site to engage with learning activities, both academic and social emotional. The pupil is in Key Stage 2 but working significantly below their age-expected targets. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young learner by fostering an inclusive and supportive educational atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support to a student with special educational needs, including autism and learning difficulties.
Assist children during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and supported in their learning.
Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of teaching staff.
Support behavioural management strategies to promote positive behaviour and social interactions.
Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and parents to ensure consistent support.
Assist with daily routines, such as aiding them with their learning and activities throughout the school day.
Monitor and record student progress, behaviours, and any concerns for ongoing assessment.
Create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages confidence and independence among pupils.

Requirements

Experience working with children, particularly in special education or with individuals with disabilities.
Knowledge of working with individuals with autism and understanding of behavioural strategies.
Prior experience in teaching or supporting children in educational settings is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with students, staff, and parents.
Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to inclusive education.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, within a busy school environment.
Relevant qualifications or training related to special education or child development are advantageous but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about supporting children's learning journeys in an inclusive setting.

Pay: £22,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
