Description

We’re looking for a dynamic and motivated Deputy Theatre Manager to help support and lead our Theatre team at The Horder Centre; supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-focused care in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with leadership responsibility in a role where you’ll truly make an impact.

The Role

As Deputy Theatre Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operational leadership of our theatre department, deputising for the Theatre Manager and ensuring exceptional standards are maintained at all times.

You’ll be responsible for:

Supporting the operational management of theatres to ensure safe, efficient service delivery.
Leading, motivating, and developing a multidisciplinary team
Maintaining high standards of clinical care, governance, and patient safety
Ensuring compliance with CQC and national standards (e.g. NICE, NatSSIPs)
Managing resources effectively, including staffing, equipment, and budgets
Monitoring performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Acting as a visible leader, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture

Leadership & Impact

You’ll be instrumental in shaping a supportive and accountable team environment, including:

Coaching and developing team members through appraisals and ongoing support
Managing performance, wellbeing, and attendance
Supporting training, induction, and continuous professional development
Driving engagement, collaboration, and service improvement across teams.

About You

We’re looking for a confident clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced theatre environment.

Essential:

RGN or ODP (Level 3 or equivalent)
Previous leadership or supervisory experience
Strong clinical background within theatre settings
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support teams.

You’ll also bring:

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
A passion for delivering outstanding patient care
A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development

Location: The Horder Centre, Crowborough
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours - 4 days per week 8am to 6pm)
Base Salary: up to £53,800.50 per annum
