About the Role
A cracking opportunity to join a growing pioneering business technology consultancy in a genuinely commercial marketing role. This is not a traditional marketing position. You will help build and maintain our lead generation and market development engine, supporting how we identify opportunities, engage prospects, and grow the business.
As a small but ambitious consultancy, every role directly contributes to the success and growth of the business.
What makes this role different
- Hands-on involvement in lead generation and business growth
- Structured mentoring and full training from our Marketing Specialist
- Direct exposure to how a consultancy wins work and delivers for clients
- A supportive, professional team environment
Market Research & Prospecting (Core Focus)
You will play a central role in stimulating future business by:
- Researching and building high‑quality target lists by sector, organisation, geography, and role.
- Identifying key decision‑makers, influencers, sector bodies, publications, events, and associations.
- Conducting outbound telephone research calls to:
- Gather intelligence.
- Establish introductions.
- Understand organisational structures and priorities.
- Identify business opportunities.
- Supporting email and direct outreach campaigns, including follow‑up activity.
- Maintaining accurate, permission‑based prospect and contact data.
- Feeding market insight back to the Founder to shape sales, speaking, and thought‑leadership activity.
This is not hard selling, but it does require confidence, resilience, and comfort picking up the phone.
Marketing Support & Content Enablement
Alongside prospecting, you will support marketing activity that directly enables growth, including:
- Assisting with campaign planning and execution aligned to business objectives.
- Researching sector trends, regulatory drivers, and market stimuli.
- Identifying opportunities for:
- Speaking engagements.
- Editorial and PR placements.
- Events and conferences.
- Supporting proposal preparation and pitch materials.
- Helping organise and maintain marketing assets, case studies, and credentials documents.
Social media and website updates are supporting activities, not the primary focus of the role.
Business & Administrative Support (Secondary)
As part of a small consultancy, you will also assist with selected operational tasks, such as:
- Supporting diary coordination and meeting preparation.
- Helping organise documents, templates, and internal resources.
- Providing ad‑hoc support that frees senior time for sales and delivery.
These activities must not displace prospecting time and are explicitly secondary to the role’s core purpose.
What we’re looking for
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to learn
- Confident communicator across multiple channels, including phone
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- A genuine hunger to succeed and make an impact
This is not a role for a social content creator; it is a broader, commercially focused marketing role.
What you’ll get
- Full training and structured development
- Hands-on mentoring and support
- Real commercial experience early in your career
- Exposure to marketing, sales, and consultancy
- Opportunity to contribute to a growing business
In return, you will have the opportunity to build a dynamic and varied career, working closely with the Founder. This role offers more than just career development; you will benefit from hands-on training in both marketing and administration functions. Regular mentoring sessions will also be provided to support your professional growth. These experiences are designed to help you excel and stand out in your field.
A competitive employment package of a starting salary of £25,000 per annum. Upon the successful completion of the probation period, you will become eligible to the performance bonus plan, funded training and company stakeholder pension.
