Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Logistics & Procurement Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, managing stock, coordinating logistics for our project pipeline across the UK, and ensuring the efficient supply of goods and materials to our Field Team. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, able to build effective relationships with key suppliers and identify new opportunities whilst ensuring quality standards are met.

The ideal applicant will play a key role in driving cost efficiencies, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting organisational growth through effective supply chain management.

Candidates will be based near Gatwick / Crawley but will be required to travel to other Company sites in Bicester and Doncaster regularly.

Summary of Duties

Procurement

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organisational objectives to secure quality goods at competitive prices.
Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including supplier selection, contract negotiations, purchase order management, and supplier performance evaluation.
Oversee logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
Track stock levels, process purchase requests, and generate reports for management review.
Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand, plan stock levels, and coordinate procurement schedules.
Establish strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and resolve any issues promptly.
Maintain and manage the PSL, conducting regular reviews and corrective actions where necessary.

Operational

Ensure management of the servicing / calibration / maintenance schedules on all plant and equipment with appropriate record keeping.
Oversee and manage our asset management system to track tools and equipment.
Ensure compliance with organisational policies, safety standards, and relevant regulations.

Fleet Management

Management and forward planning of hire and company vehicles including compliance with FORS Bronze accreditation.
Track and report on fleet costs, driver infractions, fuel usage and vehicle servicing plans.

Line Management

Effective management of the Administrator and Stores Supervisor.
Manage performance with clear delegation.
Tracking holiday, sickness. participating in salary reviews and bonus awards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in procurement and logistics roles, preferably within a construction / engineering environment.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms with suppliers and service providers.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and react quickly to changing situations.
Demonstrated ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and make data-driven decisions.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
