The Role
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Account Manager with a minimum of 1 year’s experience in an Account Manager role, ideally within a PR agency environment, to lead integrated PR programmes for a portfolio of clients across corporate, technology, and B2C sectors. This role requires a strategic communicator who can confidently manage client relationships, develop compelling media narratives, and deliver impactful campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes.
As an Account Manager, you will lead day-to-day client activity, develop compelling media strategies, and deliver high-impact campaigns that drive measurable results. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel while identifying proactive opportunities that elevate brand reputation, visibility, and market influence.
You will work collaboratively across teams, manage and mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to the agency’s wider growth through new business support and creative campaign development.
Key responsibilities
Client Management & Strategic Counsel
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for clients, building strong and trusted relationships through responsive, proactive communication.
- Provide strategic PR counsel and recommendations aligned to client business objectives and industry developments.
- Lead client meetings, status calls, reporting, and campaign planning discussions.
- Manage account workflows, timelines and deliverables to ensure programmes are executed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Identify opportunities to grow client accounts through new campaign ideas, proactive recommendations, and integrated communications initiatives.
Media Relations & Content Development
- Develop and execute integrated PR campaigns across earned, owned, and social channels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
- Create high-quality written materials including press releases, media pitches, thought leadership articles, briefing documents, case studies, and social content.
- Identify reactive and proactive media opportunities that elevate client visibility and support reputation management objectives.
- Develop compelling story angles grounded in industry trends, data, and cultural conversations.
Campaign Execution & Team Collaboration
- Manage multiple client accounts simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and service standards.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver integrated communications campaigns.
- Support and mentor Account Executives and Senior Account Executives, contributing to their professional development and day-to-day guidance.
- Monitor media coverage, evaluate campaign performance, and deliver insightful reporting against KPIs and client objectives.
- Stay informed on media trends, emerging platforms, and changes within the communications industry.
Business Development & Agency Contribution
- Support new business activity including research, proposal development, and pitch participation.
- Contribute creative ideas and strategic insights to agency brainstorms and planning sessions.
- Help foster a collaborative, ambitious, and solutions-focused team culture.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a PR agency or in-house communications role at Account Manager level or equivalent.
- Strong media relations experience with a proven ability to secure high-quality coverage and build journalist relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex topics into compelling narratives.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how communications supports wider business objectives.
- Confident presenter with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
- Creative, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office, media monitoring tools, and social media platforms.
Desirable
- Experience working across B2B technology, corporate, or professional services accounts.
- Understanding of integrated communications including social media, executive profiling, and thought leadership campaigns.
- Experience contributing to new business pitches and agency growth initiatives.
