Job Advert

The Transport Coordinator is an integral part of the Boughey Transport operation and will be responsible for controlling the efficient deployment and routing of delivery vehicles around the UK. This will include route planning, allocating resources and administrating delivery metrics on a day-to-day basis.

You will help deliver a first-class customer service through agreed KPI’s that maximise vehicle, equipment and manpower utilisation within a targeted budget whilst maintaining service requirements of work allocated to the resource pool.

Day to Day

Manage and supervise driver workloads to ensure smooth running of the operation, utilising geographical knowledge to optimise fleet efficiency.
Maintain consistent communication with drivers and depot staff, proactively keeping them informed of conditions and challenges, ensuring timely deliveries through tracking software and regular updates, reporting any errors to the Transport Planning Manager.
Coordinate in conjunction with the Operations Department to ensure that vehicles are fully manned with driver resourceand trailer maintenance schedules are executed without failure.
Develop a weekly resource plan to ensure the efficientuse of drivers, vehicles, and equipment, in line with KPIs.
Prioritise customer service expectations while maintaining commercial awareness and profitability, seeking opportunities to reduce empty running and enhance network efficiency.
Review delivery schedules periodically to ensure service and revenue targets are met, adapting to changes in customer demand to suit the operational needs of Boughey’s Operation to maximise utilisation and profitability.

Previous experience in a Transport administration/planning/coordination role.
Team player with strong and effective communication skills at all levels.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Able to work on own initiative, is self-motivated and see’s tasks through to completion.
Suggests improvements to enhance the daily planning process.
Prioritisesobjectivesand schedules work to make best use of time and resources.
Proactive in their approach to customer service and continuous improvement.
Computer literate with the ability to pick up new systems.
