About the role:
We are seeking an inspiring and compassionate Team Manager to join our dedicated service supporting Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers aged 16-25 years here at Cheshire East. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of young people as they transition into independence.
As the Team Manager, you will play a key role in leading and supporting a team of Social Workers, Personal Advisors and Family Support Worker ensuring our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers receive the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to achieve positive futures. As Team Manager, you will provide clear leadership, expert oversight, and a strong safeguarding focus, ensuring the team delivers consistently high‑quality, strengths‑based practice that empowers young people on their journey to independence.

About you:
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration (Social Work England).
- Proven leadership experience in children’s social care.
- Knowledge of legislation, guidance, policy, and procedures relating to Care Leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children.
- Experience of building strong relationships with a range of children, young people and professionals.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative managing and prioritising own workload under pressure.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A full driving license and access to a car are essential due to Cheshire East's rural nature.
