IFP Labs – UK (South Wales) has over 15 years’ experience in allergen and speciation testing.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the organisation. The Laboratory General Manager will be responsible for overseeing laboratory performance and administrative support functions within a food testing environment. This role ensures efficient workflows, accurate and timely testing, regulatory compliance, and strong coordination between technical and administrative teams to uphold food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage laboratory operations, workflow planning, and resource allocation.
· Lead, support, and develop laboratory and administrative teams.
· Ensure compliance with ISO 17025, UKAS, and food safety regulations.
· Oversee LIMS, sample tracking, and reporting accuracy.
· Monitor performance (KPIs, turnaround times, productivity) and drive improvements.
· Maintain a strong health & safety culture.
· Support audits and ensure continuous quality standards.
· Handle client queries and ensure excellent service delivery.

Essential Experience
· Degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
· Proven experience managing laboratory operations.
· Experience supervising technical and administrative teams.
Desirable Experience
· Experience within a food testing laboratory or food safety environment.

Hours: 9:00–17:00, Monday to Friday (onsite)
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 (depending on experience)
