We are looking for a proactive and community-focused Seafront Inspector to help maintain and protect some of North Norfolk's most popular coastal locations.
Based in Cromer, you will be the Council's representative across our resort areas, helping to ensure our beaches, promenades and seafront facilities remain safe, welcoming and well-maintained for residents and visitors alike.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines inspection, public engagement, enforcement, maintenance and operational support.
As Seafront Inspector, you will:
This is a part time role, with variable hours each month depending on seasonal demands. The total amount of hours worked per year is approximately 900. Of that total, approximately 750 hours are worked between April and September, as Spring and Summer are the busiest times.
We're seeking someone who:
- Enjoys working with people and can communicate confidently with members of the public, businesses and partner organisations
Has excellent customer service and communication skills
Can work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise competing demands.
Can make sound decisions and respond calmly to unexpected situations
- Has basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Has experience or practical skills in minor maintenance tasks and basic repairs
Ability to work weekends and bank holidays
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and across challenging terrain, including beaches and coastal access points
