£13.65 per hour
Shifts will be worked around breakfast, lunch, and evening mealtimes across 7 days a week (full-time and part-time roles available).
Badgers Wood is a welcoming residential care home in Drayton, just a few miles from Norwich, supporting up to 37 older people with both permanent and respite care.
The home offers a comfortable, homely environment with a variety of spaces including a library, retro lounge, seaside-themed room, café, and a hair and nail salon—creating a relaxed and sociable setting for residents.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that all meals are prepared to a high standard and in line with residents’ needs and preferences.
You will play a key role in creating a positive dining experience, helping to promote health, wellbeing, and enjoyment through food.
Planning and preparing nutritious, balanced meals
Catering for individual dietary needs and preferences
Ensuring high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimising waste
Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants
Maintaining accurate records, including food safety documentation
Creating a welcoming and enjoyable mealtime experience for residents

We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and has a positive, caring approach.
You will need to have:
Experience in a cooking or catering role (care setting experience is desirable but not essential)
Knowledge of food hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred)
A caring and respectful attitude towards older people
Good organisational and time management skills
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
