Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of service users, ensuring they receive respectful and personalised care. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing valuable skills within the care sector.

Duties

Assist with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, respecting individual preferences and dignity.
Support clients with mobility and movement, ensuring safety at all times.
Help with meal preparation and feeding, adhering to specific dietary requirements outlined in care plans.
Provide companionship and emotional support to service users, fostering a positive environment.
Maintain accurate records of care provided, including updates to care plans as necessary.
Assist with medication management under supervision, ensuring timely administration.
Support clients with household tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organising their living space.
Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care delivery.
Follow health and safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe environment for all.

Skills

Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to listen attentively and respond compassionately.
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while prioritising client needs.
Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and updating care records electronically.
Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving home visits or community-based support.
Experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a caring environment.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals in their daily lives.
