Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician / Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our professional pharmacy team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for qualified technicians to utilise their expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing, supporting patient care, and maintaining high standards of pharmacy practice. The position is fully paid and suitable for those committed to delivering exceptional pharmaceutical services in accordance with regulatory standards.

Duties

Conduct accuracy checks on dispensed medications to ensure safety and correctness before release to patients
Support the pharmacy team with medication preparation, stock management, and administrative tasks
Assist with medication administration processes, ensuring compliance with legal and professional guidelines
Provide advice and support to patients regarding their medication regimens and general health queries
Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient interactions in line with data protection policies
Contribute to maintaining a safe, organised, and compliant pharmacy environment in accordance with GPhC standards
Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with industry regulations and best practices

Qualifications

GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT)
Proven experience as a pharmacy technician within a community or hospital setting
Strong knowledge of medication administration, pharmaceutical calculations, and patient care protocols
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism
Good communication skills, capable of providing clear advice to patients and colleagues alike

Essential Requirements

Current GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician. Registration is required to practise as a pharmacy technician in Great Britain.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Ability to work effectively in a busy community pharmacy environment.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
Team player with a positive and flexible attitude.

Desirable Requirements

Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT/ACT) qualification.
Previous experience delivering NHS community pharmacy services.
Experience using pharmacy PMR systems.
Knowledge of NHS Wales pharmacy services.
