Shufflebottom Ltd is one of the UK's leading designers, manufacturers and suppliers of structural steelwork and steel-framed buildings. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable Structural Steel Painter to join our production team at our manufacturing facility in Cross Hands.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and respected business, working on a wide range of projects across the agricultural, industrial, commercial and energy sectors.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, painting and quality control of structural steelwork prior to dispatch.
Key duties will include:
- Preparation of steelwork surfaces prior to painting.
- Application of protective coatings and primers to structural steel members.
- Working with both single-pack and two-pack paint systems.
- Ensuring all paint applications meet specification and quality requirements.
- Carrying out visual inspections and quality checks on completed work.
- Identifying and rectifying defects where required.
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment.
- Following production schedules and meeting delivery targets.
- Complying with all company health, safety and environmental procedures.

Desirable:
- Previous experience within structural steel painting, industrial painting, shot blasting or a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using airless spray equipment.
- Knowledge of single-pack and two-pack coating systems.
However, full training will be provided for suitable candidates who are keen to develop their skills and build a long-term career within the steel industry.
