British Wax is a long-established family business, making specialised waxes for a wide range of consumer and professional uses such as candles, beauty, food and drink coatings, and personal care. We have recently built a new HQ in Redhill, Surrey with parking and within easy walking distance of Redhill train station.
Job Purpose
As a member of our friendly office team, you will report to the Procurement and Purchasing Director. You will support the Company's procurement activities, with some general business and accounts administration responsibilities.
Duration
This role is a fixed term maternity cover contract, incorporating a handover, lasting approximately 56-58 weeks, commencing in July 2026 and completing in August 2027.
Hours
Part Time: A minimum of 30 hours to be worked over 4 or 5 days, including Friday.
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
On Site - Due to the nature of this role, this is an office-based position.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring stock levels and evaluating when to order items.
- Checking prices and availability of products.
- Generating purchase orders.
- Monitoring the progress of orders and communication from suppliers.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding missing or damaged products.
- Liaising with the production department regarding product deliveries and delays.
- Receiving products into the stock system, ensuring accuracy of information and receipt of appropriate documents, including quality documentation.
- Inputting landed costs on SAP B1 for appropriate products.
- Assisting the Quality and Compliance Officer with supplier information and monitoring.
- Assisting with Year End / Stocktake preparations and inputting.
- Office support when required, including answering the phone, taking meeting minutes, etc.
- Inputting purchase invoices onto the SAP B1 system.
- Reconciliation.
- Posting bank transactions onto the SAP B1 system, including customer receipts via bank transfer and card payment, supplier payments and band transfers.
- Posting foreign currency bank transactions, ensuring correct exchange rate is used
- Petty cash reconciliations
- Other Ad Hoc duties
Personal Specification
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative role
- Competent and confident working with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with using online systems
- Great attention to detail with strong numerical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including making and receiving telephone calls
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
- Level 3 qualifications in maths, business, procurement and supply, or similar
- Experience using SAP Business One, or similar
Training
- On the job training provided by line manager.
Pay: £27,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
