Job Description

Fresh Arts C.I.C is a new Arts Council England NPO based in Brent. We are committed to making the arts more accessible for children from all backgrounds. Fresh Arts C.I.C runs a year-round programme encompassing the best in arts participation activities for children and cultural education and outreach work for both its community and the sector.

This role will include full time facilitation in schools and in our building and in addition planning, events support, administration and general office-based tasks.

This role includes regular weekend working and shift based working due to the nature of the programmes.

The ideal candidate has a passion for facilitation and community and working with both young people / early-stage creatives and families. They will have good communication and organisational skills and will be enthusiastic about the arts. We are looking for someone with excellent administration and communication skills.

The role is based in our building in Brent and in community settings and schools across London and the Southeast.

Job Requirements:

· Educated to a minimum of degree level and/or have at least 18 months relevant professional experience in the arts.

· Excellent facilitation skills and experience, in drama, dance, singing or musical theatre with young people aged 3 – 16.

· Leadership skills.

· Passionate and committed to creating world-class arts engagement opportunities for children.

· Able to train and support others in facilitation and teaching skills.

· Have excellent organisational, administration and time management skills. We would also love someone with a good telephone manner.

· Have experience of supporting the delivery of projects or events with a performance element.

· Have strong organisational skills, with good planning skills, and the ability to prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines.

· Have excellent communication skills, with a high standard of written and verbal English, with the ability to draft clear emails and communications.

· Can build positive working relationships and provide a friendly service to people.

· Are a strong team player and able to work collaboratively.

Desired

· Experience facilitating whole class groups.

· Experience training and monitoring other facilitators.

· Experience mentoring.

The Person Specification

· You have a passion for creative engagement and working with both young people and families.

· You have a passion for facilitation.

· You are passionate and enthusiastic about the arts and understand the benefits of arts engagement.

· You have good communication and organisational skills and the ability to solve problems.

· You can build effective working relationships and adapt to the team's needs.

· You have a positive attitude towards people from different backgrounds and ethnicities.

· You can produce and present accurate, plans, resources, reports and presentations.

Job Responsibilities

· The Facilitator role will include but is not limited to:

· Facilitation in our new building in Wembley

· Facilitation in schools and the community

· Cover support.

· Planning and resource creation and distribution

· Training & mentoring freelance team members

· Observations and quality control of sessions

· Develop curricula of work for existing programmes and for new projects.

· Training and supporting our team of facilitators.

· Any other tasks as needed.

Hours: Shifts include but are not limited to: 8am-4.30pm, 9am-5.30pm or 11am-7.30pm /12pm-8.30pm

Salary: Full time equivalent £26,436.80

Pay: £26,436.80 per year
