Full job description

This is a part time position for a two week Rota. One week working Friday and the following week working Saturday and Sunday. 8am to 6pm.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of cooking in a care home setting, with an emphasis on food safety and meal preparation.

As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to our three week set menu.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
Assist in the planning of menus and meal preparation schedules.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the manager.

Experience

Previous experience in a care home kitchen, restaurant or commercial kitchen environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Proficiency in meal preparation techniques, including chopping, grilling, baking, and plating.
Strong culinary skills with an ability to follow recipes accurately.
Excellent organisational skills.
A passion for cooking and a desire to continually improve culinary skills.
