Full job description

Northern Polytunnels is looking for a Tube Laser Operative to join our production team. This role involves setting up and operating tube laser machinery, ensuring high-quality cutting standards, and supporting the smooth running of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate the tube laser machine safely and efficiently.
Load materials and prepare jobs in line with production requirements.
Monitor cutting quality and make adjustments where required.
Carry out routine preventative maintenance.
Read and interpret technical drawings.
Inspect finished parts and check dimensions against required tolerances.
Troubleshoot mechanical or programming issues where possible.
Work with the maintenance team on repairs and planned maintenance.
Maintain good housekeeping standards and keep the work area clean, safe, and organised.

Skills and Experience

Previous laser operating experience is preferred.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Confident using hand tools.
FLT licence preferred.

Personal Qualities

Self-motivated and reliable.
Positive, can-do attitude.
Strong attention to detail.
Willing to work overtime when required.

Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour

Experience:

Production: 1 year (preferred)
Laser: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Forklift Licence (preferred)

Work Location: In person
