Full job description

Build something from the very beginning.

We’re opening a brand-new artisan bakehouse in rural Lancashire, and we’re looking for an experienced sourdough baker who wants more than just another bakery job.

This isn’t a production factory. It’s a place where quality comes first, shortcuts don’t exist, and every loaf leaving the oven should make us proud.

You’ll lead our bread production from day one, helping establish systems, recipes and standards as we build Ruff Puff into one of the North West’s most respected independent bakeries.

What you’ll be baking

Naturally leavened sourdough breads
Country loaves and seasonal specials
Long-fermented doughs
Focaccia, buns and other artisan breads
Working closely alongside our viennoiserie and pastry team

We’re looking for someone who

Has at least 2 years’ professional artisan bread experience
Is confident managing long fermentation schedules
Understands dough, not just recipes
Can work independently and take ownership of bread production
Takes genuine pride in consistency and craftsmanship
Wants to help shape a growing bakery from the ground up

What you’ll get

45-hour working week
