We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our friendly team working across Devon and Somerset. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, confident in minimising mechanical downtime and be proactive in looking at ways to improve efficiency whilst maintaining a safe working environment. We’re seeking a collaborative team plater with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery
· Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns
· Implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime
· Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
· Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
· Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
· Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise operations

Key Competencies
Essential
· Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or similar role
· Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics
· Ability to read, interpret and analyse technical drawings
· Problem-solving and analytical skills
· Relevant engineering skills (HNC/HND, NVQ or equivalent)
· Strict adherence to safety standards
· Ability to work independently and within a team
· Welding experience including MIG, stick, TIG (desirable but not essential)
· Full driving licence
Desirable
· Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
· Basic understandings of PLC systems
· Knowledge of mechanical maintenance techniques
· Basic electrical knowledge
· Heavy and light mechanical industry
· Fast pace, strong decision making
· Willing to work away from time to time
Pay: £38,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
