Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep and enhancement of our outdoor space and scaffolding equipment. This role involves maintaining all equipment and general groundskeeping tasks to ensure a safe, attractive, and well-maintained environment. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest and willingness to learn and develop their skills in various maintenance techniques. The starting rate is negotiable depending on experience and if a fork lift licence is held. This scheduled hours for this position is 12pm-8pm Monday-Thursday.

Operate hand tools
Support the use of power tools and other groundskeeping activities
General maintenance, servicing and organisation of all stock
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency
Maintain cleanliness of the yard area by removing debris and ensuring pathways are clear
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards

Experience

Previous experience in maintenance is essential
Basic mechanical knowledge related to machinery and power tools is desirable
Familiarity with hand tools used in construction work is preferred
Experience operating equipment such as excavators or irrigation systems will be considered a plus
An interest in construction or general maintenance work is beneficial
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks is required

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about outdoor work or construction-related activities to gain practical experience while contributing to the upkeep of our grounds.

Pay: From £101.68 per day

Ability to commute/relocate:

Cullompton EX15 2PE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
