Job Introduction

Are you ready to help shape the future of Finance controls? Our Finance Transformation programme is looking for a Business Process Manager - Controls Workstream to help design, strengthen and embed a smarter, more sustainable control environment across Finance.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controls Leader, this role will translate programme objectives into clear controls requirements, practical workstream outputs and delivery plans that support better decisions, stronger governance and more efficient ways of working.

Working with autonomy and influence, the successful candidate will partner across Finance, process workstreams, audit, risk and the wider business to create controls that are easier to operate, clearer to evidence and better aligned to a modern finance function.

This is a 2 year fixed-term contract to support the delivery of our Finance Transformation Programme.

Main Responsibility

Own key Controls workstream deliverables, from planning and analysis through to recommendations, delivery actions and stakeholder engagement.
Analyse current control and compliance effort to baseline activity, diagnose friction points and translate findings into prioritised recommendations.
Build and maintain core workstream materials, including control inventories, process and control taxonomies, KPI definitions, implementation plans and governance packs.
Shape future-state controls across key finance processes, ensuring ownership, frequency, evidence, escalation, monitoring and governance are clearly defined.
Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and strengthen controls while reducing manual effort, rework, chasing and approval delays.
Act as a key interface between Controls and process workstreams, IFSERP upgrade/rollout, BI/data/reporting, risk and audit stakeholders.
Lead or support controls assessment activity, including risk register updates, control self-assessment, issue tracking, remediation planning and follow-up.
Prepare high-quality papers, reports and decision-support materials for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
Support agreed controls changes through detailed design, readiness, go-live, hypercare and smooth transition into business as usual.
Influence stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to improve ownership, consistency and discipline in control operation, evidence and compliance activity.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will bring credible experience in controls, risk, compliance, business process analysis or finance transformation, alongside strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to lead through ambiguity. You will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and turning complex control and process information into clear recommendations, practical outputs and high-quality papers.
