We are looking for an optical assistant to join our team and play a key role in delivering state of the art eye care alongside the latest trends in eye wear for our patients.
The successful candidate(s) will be expected to work with the rest of the practice team to deliver excellent customer service. Optical experience is preferred but not essential.
What does the role involve?
General:
Providing excellent customer service in person, on the telephone and via email.
Use a variety of software including practice management, ordering, clinical imaging and NHS claim systems.
Managing stock and supply levels including ordering from suppliers and keeping patients informed of order progress.
General practice administration, reception duties and payment processing.
Updating practice social media
Retail:
Advise on spectacle frame choice and in partnership with clinical staff advise on suitable lens choice to meet the patient’s needs.
Assemble, adjust, repair and fit spectacles as required.
Clinical:
Guide our patients through their visit including supporting their clinical examination with visual field testing, retinal imaging and focimetry as required by the Optometrist.
Remuneration:
Salary commensurate with experience + Pension + Staff discount
Training:
In house training will be provided plus the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in optical care.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Attention to detail for accurate measurements and fittings
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service experience to enhance patient satisfaction and care
Hours:
15-30 hours per week including some evenings and alternating Saturday mornings. Additional hours available for covering leave where required.
