Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Advisor specialising in construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies to ensure compliance with legal standards and best practices. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safety culture of a dynamic construction environment, ensuring the well-being of all personnel and stakeholders on site. A background in electrical experience is advantageous, supporting the management of electrical safety protocols within the project.

Responsibilities

Develop, review, and enforce health and safety policies tailored to construction activities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
Provide expert advice on electrical safety procedures and ensure adherence to electrical safety standards across all operations.
Lead safety inductions and training sessions for new and existing personnel to promote a strong safety culture.
Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses thoroughly, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventative measures.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and workers to integrate health and safety considerations into all phases of construction activities.
Monitor ongoing compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices within the project scope.
Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation or industry best practices related to health, safety, and environmental management.

Experience

Proven experience as an HSE Advisor or similar role within the construction sector.
Demonstrable knowledge of UK health and safety legislation applicable to construction sites.
Experience in managing electrical safety protocols is highly desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations effectively.
Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with diverse teams at all levels of the organisation.
Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent are essential; additional certifications in electrical safety are advantageous.
