Temporary Print Finishing and Warehouse Assistant
Part-time summer role: approximately 20 hours per week
Warsash, Southampton
Flexible hours by agreement
Hourly pay in line with the current National Minimum or National Living Wage rate applicable to the successful applicant
We are looking for a reliable and practical person to join our friendly team during our busy summer period.
We are a small, family-run print business based in Warsash. We produce banners, signs and other printed products for customers across the UK. This is a varied, hands-on position helping with the final stages of production and making sure customer orders are finished, packed and dispatched accurately.
Please note: this is not a graphic design role
Although we work in the print industry and the environment can be creative and enjoyable, this vacancy is not for a graphic designer and will not develop into a graphic design position.
The work is practical and warehouse-based. It would suit somebody who likes staying active, working with their hands and seeing completed orders leave the building each day.
What the role involves
Typical tasks will include:
- Finishing banners, signs and other printed products
- Carefully packing customer orders
- Preparing parcels for dispatch
- Lifting and moving materials and finished products
- Keeping the warehouse and work areas organised
- Helping the team complete orders during busy periods
- Carrying out other straightforward production tasks when needed
Full training will be provided. The individual tasks are not overly complicated, but the warehouse can move quickly when we are busy. We need somebody who can learn the processes, use common sense and get on with the job independently once they understand what is required.
Who would suit the role?
Previous warehouse or print experience is helpful but not essential. Attitude and reliability are more important.
You should be:
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable with practical, hands-on work
- Able to lift and move items safely
- Happy working at a steady pace in a busy environment
- Careful and accurate when finishing and packing orders
- Willing to learn and ask sensible questions during training
- Able to work independently without needing constant supervision
- Flexible and willing to help with different tasks as priorities change
You will be joining a small and friendly team within a family business. The role can be varied, creative and enjoyable, but it is also active work and we need somebody who is willing to take responsibility for their tasks.
Hours and duration
This is a temporary position to help us during the busier summer months.
We expect the role to be approximately 20 hours per week, although the exact days and hours can be negotiated to suit the successful applicant and the needs of the business.
There may also be opportunities for additional hours during particularly busy periods.
