Hours:

30hrs p/w - term-time only. 6am-12pm - Mon to Fri. NJC3 £16,626.81

15hrs p/w - term-time only. 5.30am - 8.30am - Mon to Fri. NJC3 £8,313.40

General:

Mary Hare educates profoundly deaf children at its residential school in Berkshire and we pride ourselves on our pupils’ achievements at GCSE, A Level as well as B Tech and Vocational Courses. We offer the opportunity to teach highly motivated children, in small classes, where you can make a real difference at this national centre of excellence for deaf education. No knowledge of sign language is required, as we follow an auditory/oral philosophy.

The Role:

The Housekeeper will work as part of a team to perform a variety of regular and one-off cleaning tasks and duties as directed by the Senior Housekeeper. Mary Hare is a very successful well-presented, well maintained school along with all other business’ such as; Arlington Arts, Summer School and Arlington Laboratories.

Purpose:

To provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the School and businesses whilst working both in small teams and individually.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of your designated area and for maintaining high and consistent standards
Take initiative to perform cleaning and tidying tasks that are not specifically contained within the rota but require attention as part of maintaining overall high standards
Liaise with the Senior Housekeeper and other members of staff as required to ensure the cleaning rota operates smoothly around both school events and outside lets
Report cleaning supply requirements and stock levels to the Senior Housekeeper
Ensure Health and Safety, quality and general procedure compliance
Work as part of a team and support other members of the Housekeeping team to meet standards and school objectives
Report any Health and Safety issues to the appropriate persons
