Job Purpose
To produce accurate work to specification within a fast-paced print production environment. Utilising industrial print finishing machinery to ensure finished products meet quality standards, production schedules and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilites
- Operate programmable and manual guillotine cutting, safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret job sheets accurately, to maintain integrity of the finished product.
- Be able to set guillotine programs.
- Inspect printed products for quality, alignment and trimming accuracy.
- Competent in guillotine blade changes (training for this can be provided).
- Perform routine maintenance and blade checks.
- Follow health & safety procedures and protocols at all times.
- Record production data if required.
- Work closely with other operators.
- Keep a clean, tidy and organized work area.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Experience operating industrial print finishing guillotines.
- Good numerical and measuring skills.
- Ability to read production specifications and job instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong awareness of health & safety policies.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience with Polar, Perfecta or Wohlenberg guillotines.
- Understanding of other Lamination, Stitching, Folding and Book Binding finishing processes.
- Forklift License.
- Experience with Siteflow MIS systems.
Physical Requirements:
Role involves a level of manual handling; a good standard of physical fitness is required
Flexibility:
- Primarily night shift, with flexibility required to support business needs.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak periods or to cover absence.
2 roles are available
One position is a Sunday - Wednesday night shift and the other is for a Monday - Thursday night shift.
Both are 20:00 - 06:00.
Pay: £29,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
