Experienced Spray Painter
Jas P Wilson is a UK-based supplier and engineer of forestry and firewood machinery. Established in 1964, we now serve customers throughout the UK, Europe and beyond from our base in Dalbeattie, South-West Scotland. We supply new and used Valtra tractors, Used Excavators, timber cranes and trailers, professional firewood processors and associated products, heavy duty winches and woodchippers, mulchers as well as used timber harvester & forwarder. We also manufacture the Botex range of heavy-duty timber cranes and trailers in our Dalbeattie base. We have an exciting opportunity for a Spray Painter to join our team in Dalbeattie. The role is a full time, permanent position (40 hours per week) Monday – Friday, 08.00 – 17.00.
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Spray Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing a variety of surfaces to a high standard while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity targets are met.
Main duties and responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:
· Setting up painting equipment as each job requires; sanding down and preparing the bodywork; selecting colours; applying primer coats, main coats and finishes.
· Plan your work to minimize waste of raw materials as well as working in a clean and tidy manner.
· To read and assess production information for required specification details; working in an organised manner to ensure the task is completed efficiently, to the correct standard and within the necessary period.
· Prepare, including masking, and apply paint to a range of fabricated metal products to a high standard.
· Use and maintain shotblasting equipment.
· To carry out basic quality control checks.
· Personally make health and safety a priority ensuring you comply with all health and safety instructions.
· Adhere to the Company’s environmental policies and legal duties, specifically control of emissions, management of solvents and the recycling of waste product.
· Wear and maintain your respiratory and personal protective equipment at all times.
· Communicate with the Production Supervisor to ensure paint and consumable stocks are readily available as required.
· To ensure the safe operation of machinery within your area of responsibility.
· To assist in other areas of production (within capabilities) in the Company as and when required (fitting workshop)
Key skills, knowledge & experience:
· Good hand-to-eye coordination.
· The ability to follow written instructions and keep records.
· Previous experience as a Spray Painter in automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or related environments. 3+ years of experience is desired but not essential.
· Knowledge of paint preparation and application techniques.
· Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
· Good understanding of health and safety practices.
· Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
· Relevant qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.

Pay: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
