Full job description

We're looking for a Project Manager to join our Construction Business, delivering a flagship new build education facility in Dalkeith

Location: Mayfield School, Dalkeith - On site with some hybrid flexibility

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the on-site delivery of a large Community Learning Campus in Dalkeith. As part of Kier's commitment to creating spaces that enrich lives and communities, you'll oversee a project team managing the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a state-of-the-art campus with a construction value of £45M. This modern facility will feature sports pitches, community growing spaces, meeting rooms, and a library, accommodating over 700 primary school pupils, 100 nursery-aged children, and 24 children with additional support needs.

What will you be responsible for?

As Project Manager, you'll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering high-value, technically complex construction projects. Your day to day will include:

Overseeing site teams to manage performance against programme and budget under JCT or NEC contract conditions
Leading the project team and managing subcontractor relationships to ensure timely and quality delivery
Managing project budgets and providing timely reporting on progress to clients and stakeholders
Acting as the primary client point of contact to develop excellent working relationships
Identifying solutions to project challenges, whether technical, logistical, or commercial

What are we looking for?

This role Project Manager is great for you if:

You hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant construction discipline
You have significant experience leading construction project delivery on high-value builds, particularly large education campuses
You can demonstrate experience of managing project budgets, programmes, and teams effectively
You possess strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships
You hold SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications, along with a full driving licence
