Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Window Blind Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, adjusting, and repairing window blinds in various residential and commercial properties. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in construction or related trades is advantageous, and a commitment to safety standards is essential. This position offers the opportunity to develop specialised skills within the window treatment industry while contributing to high-quality service delivery.

Duties

Measure windows accurately to ensure proper fit of blinds
Install a variety of window coverings including roller blinds, Venetian blinds, vertical blinds, and other custom solutions
Use hand tools and power tools to secure fittings safely and securely
Adjust and repair existing window blinds as required
Read schematics and technical drawings to understand installation specifications
Ensure all installations comply with health and safety regulations
Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
Liaise with clients to confirm measurements and installation preferences
Assist with the fabrication of custom blind components when necessary
Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes

Skills

Proven experience with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
Knowledge of construction practices including carpentry, masonry, plastering, roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, and construction painting is desirable but not essential
Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects safely and work at heights if required
Excellent communication skills for client interaction and teamwork
Prior experience in construction or fitting trades such as carpentry or masonry is advantageous but not mandatory
A proactive attitude towards health and safety standards in the workplace
