Job Overview
The Quality Supply Chain Officer reports directly to the Group HSEQ Manager.
This new role bridges the gap between quality compliance, international trade, and commercial operations. You will manage customer onboarding, technical questionnaires, international export documentation, and supply chain compliance. This is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity to truly make the role your own, requiring close collaboration with the HSEQ, site management and the sales team to facilitate business growth.
Key Responsibilities
International Export & Regulatory Affairs
- Lead global export compliance for new and existing international destinations.
- Coordinate with government bodies including APHA and DEFRA for regulatory approvals.
- Manage premises audit documentation to secure new export permissions (e.g., expanding from non-ruminant to ruminant PAP exports).
Customer Onboarding & Trial Management
- Manage the technical setup of all new customers within the management system.
- Oversee trial samples, physically collating them from the processing site and ensuring they are correctly generated, packaged, and dispatched.
- Track sample feedback and liaise with internal teams to ensure compliance with customer or internal specs.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Complete customer questionnaires regarding ISO standards, GMP+, sustainability, and quality compliance.
- Manage the supplier compliance process, ensuring all vendors submit required Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs).
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for ISO compliance and regulatory inspections.
- Lead HACCP plan updates with full support from the HACCP Team, Group HSEQ Manager and senior management.
- Support the transition to updated ISO 14001, 9001, and 45001 standards over the coming months.
Working Environment
- Split setup: Desk and administrative duties are based within our off-site offices.
- On-site presence: Regular visits to the processing site to collect samples and liaise directly with the manufacturing plant and Quality Supervisor.
- Pace: Fast-paced, highly collaborative, and actively hands-on.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications (Desirable)
- Proven experience in technical compliance, HSEQ, or international export administration.
- Direct experience working with APHA, DEFRA, or similar regulatory bodies.
- Knowledge of Processed Animal Proteins (PAPs), animal by-products, or food/feed safety regulations.
- Familiarity with ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001) and supply chain auditing.
- Understanding of HACCP principles and plan maintenance.
Key Skills
- Meticulous attention to detail when handling complex legal, quality, and export documentation.
- Strong communication skills to navigate relationships with plant operators, government auditors, suppliers, and sales teams.

Working hours 5 days a week 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm
