Full job description

Catering Assistants

We are currently recruiting for several Catering Assistants on a casual contract basis. Hours range between 15hrs per week to 30hrs and some weekend work is required on a rota basis.

We are keen to receive applications from candidates who have FOH experience and are available to work week days and weekends on a rota basis.

As a Catering Assistant, your role will involve predominantly working in our Front of House areas, greeting customers, taking orders, running food and drinks and everything in between. You will be required to learn our menus and have a sound understanding of our allergy procedures ensuring you can confidently handle customer queries

We encourage candidates with experience to apply, but full in-house training will be delivered so if you are looking for a busy hands-on role within a great team, we’d love to hear from you!

Please note that, due to the location of our garden centre, having your own transport is preferred.

Meadow Croft Garden Centre is part of W. D. Smith & Son, a family-run business with four generations of horticultural experience behind it. We also hold regular festivals and events across the year, including our now renowned German Market & Christmas Fair, Food & Drink Festival, and our unique Viola & Pansy Festival.

Our restaurant, Meadow Croft Kitchen, is an integral part of our garden centre, as are the team members that make our restaurant so successful. Meadow Croft Kitchen has a well-established reputation for serving delicious homemade dishes, bakes and cakes, together with daily specials and afternoon tea.
