Vehicle Dismantler / Mechanic / Yard Operative
First Choice Auto Parts LTD is looking for a reliable and hardworking Vehicle Dismantler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely dismantling vehicles, removing usable parts, and organising components for resale, recycling, or disposal.
Previous experience in vehicle dismantling, mechanics, or automotive repair is beneficial, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
- Safely dismantle vehicles using hand tools and power tools
- Remove parts such as engines, gearboxes, body panels, lights, interior trims, wheels, and other components
- Check removed parts for damage and usability
- Organise, label, and store parts correctly for resale or recycling
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving vehicle parts where required
- Follow all health and safety procedures while working in the yard/workshop
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
- Support the team with general yard and workshop duties when needed
Experience
- Previous experience in vehicle dismantling, mechanical work, or car parts is desirable
- Basic mechanical knowledge would be an advantage
- Experience using hand tools and power tools is preferred
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
- Good attention to detail when removing and organising parts
- Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential
This is a hands-on role in a busy automotive environment. The right candidate should be hardworking, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with vehicles and vehicle parts on a daily basis.
Hours & Pay:
40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9 to 5pm
All tools provided.
