Full job description

We are seeking an Internal Sales Engineer / Fabrication Estimator to support our commercial and operational functions. The role is primarily office-based and is responsible for producing accurate, timely quotations for fabrication, welding, plating, and associated engineering works. When not actively estimating, the individual will support desktop sales activities and assist with company marketing and exposure initiatives. This role suits someone with a strong technical background in fabrication and/or machining who can confidently interpret engineering drawings and translate them into commercially sound quotations.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Quotation

Interpret and dissect engineering drawings, specifications, and client requirements Estimate labour hours for fabrication, welding, machining (where applicable), and plating processes Determine material requirements and source up-to-date material pricing from suppliers Estimate consumable usage (e.g. welding wire, gases, abrasives, coatings) and associated costs Compile detailed and accurate cost breakdowns for client quotations Prepare and issue professional quotations within required turnaround times Liaise with workshop and management teams to validate scope, methods, and pricing assumptions

Sales Support

Conduct desktop sales activities, including follow-ups on quotations and client enquiries Maintain communication with existing customers to support repeat business Assist in identifying new sales opportunities within existing and prospective accounts

Marketing & Exposure

Assist with company marketing efforts, including online presence and promotional material Support initiatives to improve brand visibility and market exposure Contribute technical input to marketing content where appropriate

Pay: £35,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
