Location: Spindles, Floor 8, George Street, Oldham, OL1 1HD

Role Overview:

We’re looking for skilled and motivated Children’s Social Workers to join our Assessment and Intervention service where you will be part of a dynamic frontline service responsible for responding to new referrals, completing timely assessments, and delivering effective interventions for children and families. Whether you’re managing shortterm work or supporting families through Child in Need plans, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding children and promoting positive change. If you’re an experienced practitioner who can balance fastpaced decisionmaking with thoughtful, childcentered practice, this is an opportunity for you to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake highquality assessments, including Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
Respond to duty referrals with professional curiosity and clear risk analysis
Develop, implement and review Child in Need plans that support sustainable change
Work directly with children and families to understand their lived experiences
Collaborate with partner agencies to ensure coordinated, effective support
Maintain accurate, timely case records and produce clear, analytical reports
Contribute to team discussions, reflective sessions, and a culture of shared learning

Key Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Strong experience in frontline children’s social care, particularly duty or assessment
Confident in managing risk, prioritising workload, and making sound decisions
Skilled in direct work with children and building meaningful relationships
Excellent communication and reportwriting abilities
A reflective, resilient practitioner committed to highquality practice
