Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. This is not an entry level role, the ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn within a dynamic kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, contributing to the preparation of high-quality meals for our customers.

The ideal candidate will be organised, hardworking, clean, and able to work efficiently under pressure. While we are happy to develop and train the right person to reach a higher standard, applicants must already have previous hands on kitchen experience and a good understanding of kitchen operations and hygiene.

Responsibilities

Supporting chefs with food preparation and service
Preparing ingredients, sauces, garnishes, and kitchen mise en place
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
Washing dishes, kitchen equipment, and utensils efficiently
Ensuring food hygiene and health & safety standards are followed at all times
Assisting with deliveries, stock rotation, and storage
Keeping kitchen stations clean and service ready throughout the shift
Working efficiently during busy breakfast, brunch, and lunch service periods

Requirements

Previous experience working in a professional kitchen is essential
Ability to work confidently in a fast paced environment
Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and organised
Able to follow instructions and maintain consistency during service
Experience in a café, brunch, or restaurant kitchen is preferred
