Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Assistant to support our clinical trials and research projects. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of research activities, assisting with data collection, patient monitoring, and regulatory adherence. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in advancing their career within the healthcare and clinical research sectors. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a solid understanding of clinical procedures and regulations.

Duties

Assist in the coordination and management of clinical trials in accordance with FDA regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
Monitor patients during trials, recording vital signs, administering tests, and ensuring adherence to protocols.
Collect, record, and manage data accurately using specialised statistical software and data management systems.
Support patient recruitment, screening, informed consent processes, and scheduling appointments.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including documentation and reporting standards.
Perform phlebotomy procedures where necessary, maintaining strict aseptic techniques.
Supervise junior staff or interns as required, providing guidance on research protocols and safety procedures.
Maintain detailed records of trial activities, adverse events, and protocol deviations for audit readiness.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and regulatory personnel to ensure smooth trial operations.

Skills

Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical research principles.
Excellent analysis skills for interpreting data trends and identifying anomalies.
Proficiency in statistical software packages used for data analysis in clinical settings.
Experience in patient monitoring techniques and adherence to safety protocols.
Familiarity with FDA regulations governing clinical trials and compliance management practices.
Competence in data management systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
Prior experience supervising team members or interns within a healthcare or research environment is desirable.
Background in nursing or phlebotomy is advantageous for hands-on patient procedures.
Organised with exceptional attention to detail to manage multiple trial components simultaneously. This position offers a stimulating environment for those eager to contribute to impactful medical research while developing their professional expertise within a compliant and supportive setting.

Pay: £25,420.00-£45,649.17 per year
