Full job description

We have an opportunity within our company for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our team and be willing to work at both locations within Daventry, Northamptonshire.

About the Job:

Key Responsibilities

Lead and motivate a production team by setting daily priorities, running shift briefings, and ensuring procedures, targets, and safety standards are clearly understood and followed. Develop a flexible, multi-skilled team through coaching, performance feedback, training, PDPs, and annual appraisals, supporting the Manager as required.

Plan and allocate work in line with production and warehouse schedules, ensuring efficient use of labour, equipment, and materials to meet output, quality, and delivery targets. Monitor throughput, downtime, changeovers, stock movements, and work order completion, providing hands-on support when needed.

Act as first-line quality control, completing first-off and last-off checks, enforcing SOPs, and ensuring quality issues are escalated, investigated, and resolved. Identify and segregate non-conforming material and carry out root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Promote a strong health and safety culture by enforcing PPE requirements, encouraging near-miss reporting, and leading accident, incident, and non-conformance investigations through to closure.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and equipment reliability, supporting 5S, routine maintenance checks, calibration compliance, and Friday clean-downs. Monitor critical spares and consumables and escalate equipment faults promptly to Facilities or Maintenance.

Drive continuous improvement within the team by encouraging ideas, supporting approved process changes, identifying efficiency opportunities, and delivering or coordinating job-specific training.

Provide cover for other Team Leaders when required, support operational priorities, enforce company conduct standards, and contribute recommendations to improve performance and ways of working.

Experience

Experience of leading small group activities to drive improvement ideas
Counterbalance FLT License - accredited - in date - essential
Reach Truck License - accredited - in date - essential
Computer literate with experience of MS packages and ERP systems
Driving License - essential
Experience leading teams in an automotive manufacturing or warehouse environment is required.
