Townsend Contracting is a reputable, privately owned BM Trada Q-Mark certified subcontractor specialising in turnkey block restoration, including fire door installation and maintenance, passive firestopping and drylining.
With a growing pipeline of fire safety and building remediation projects, we are seeking a highly organised Construction Administrator to support our Quality Assurance and Compliance across our construction projects.
Role Description
This is a full-time, predominantly office-based role at our Liverpool Head Office, with occasional visits to projects as required.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring quality administration across fire safety and restoration projects.
The role will involve working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure that QA information is complete, accurate and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
A significant part of the role will involve reviewing QA submissions, checking photographic evidence and supporting documentation, maintaining QA trackers and identifying outstanding information requiring action from site teams.
The role would suit someone with a construction background who is highly organised and comfortable working with digital systems, documentation and project trackers. Experience as a Construction Administrator, Site Administrator, Clerk of Works, Assistant Site Manager, QA Coordinator, Document Controller or similar would be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor QA across multiple live construction and fire safety projects.
- Review QA submissions through Bolster Systems (QA App), ensuring required information, photographs and supporting evidence have been correctly submitted.
- Check QA records against project requirements, specifications and agreed company standards.
- Maintain and update project QA Excel Trackers, dashboards and completion records.
- Monitor outstanding QA information and proactively liaise with site teams to ensure items are completed and closed out.
- Review photographic evidence and identify missing, incomplete or unsuitable records.
- Maintain organised QA documentation and project records within the company's systems and SharePoint environment.
- Assist with the preparation of project handover and completion documentation.
- Monitor non-conformances, defects and outstanding actions through to resolution.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors regarding QA requirements and outstanding information.
- Identify recurring quality issues and provide feedback to the management team.
- Carry out occasional site visits to review QA processes, support site teams and verify that project records reflect the works being undertaken.
- Assist in developing and improving company QA procedures, checklists, trackers and reporting systems.
- Ensure project documentation is maintained in accordance with client requirements, third-party accreditation requirements and internal procedures.
- Support the management team with regular QA reporting and project performance information.
Requirements
- Experience within the construction industry or a construction-related administration, QA, inspection or site-based role.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other digital systems to maintain trackers and project records.
- Comfortable reviewing large volumes of documentation and identifying missing or incomplete information.
- Good understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Experience with QA, compliance, inspection, document control or construction administration would be advantageous.
- Experience with Bolster Systems or similar construction QA software would be advantageous.
- Ability to communicate professionally with site teams, subcontractors, project managers and clients.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
