About the Role
Bostik UK is looking for a highly organised and proactive Human Resources Assistant to join our HR team. Reporting to the HR Manager and working alongside another HR Assistant and HR Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering professional HR administration and support across a workforce of approximately 500 employees.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with HR experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across a wide range of people processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle administration, payroll support and HR reporting.
Key Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Assistant, you will:
- Manage recruitment administration, including posting vacancies, screening CVs and scheduling interviews.
- Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure all new starters receive a comprehensive induction covering health & safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Support the administration of employee lifecycle processes including starters, leavers, transfers, promotions, maternity and paternity leave, pensions, private medical insurance and long service awards.
- Maintain accurate employee records across HR, Payroll and Time & Attendance systems.
- Process contractual changes and liaise with managers and payroll teams to resolve employee queries.
- Monitor employee absences and support short-term sickness absence management procedures.
- Produce regular HR reports and management information, including headcount and absence reporting.
- Support health and safety administration, including maintaining training records and providing statistical information.
- Assist with HR investigations, disciplinary and appeal processes when required.
- Contribute to departmental KPIs and ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual HR activities are completed accurately and on time.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Previous administration experience, ideally within a Human Resources function.
- A minimum of 2 years' HR administration or generalist HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial or commercial environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional and confidential approach when handling sensitive information.
- The ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and experience using HR systems or databases.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience supporting payroll processes.
- Experience working in a multi-site or unionised environment.
- Working towards or holding a CIPD qualification.
