Full job description

The Marine tavern is a brand new venue in Dawlish, claiming a unique position, overlooking the south Devon coast. Marine tavern consists of an upstairs restaurant championing local produce in a modern european dining style and a downstairs pub venue offering live music, sports and classic pub cuisine.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations within our vibrant establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality. This role involves supervising staff, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. The Restaurant Manager will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment and driving the success of our restaurant through effective team management and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the restaurant team, including chefs, servers, and support staff, to ensure smooth daily operations
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards and consistency
Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to optimise team performance
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and uphold high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to maximise efficiency
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to enhance guest satisfaction
Implement promotional activities and optimise service delivery to increase sales and customer loyalty
Maintain a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the restaurant’s brand values
Collaborate with kitchen staff on food production, menu planning, and special events
Ensure all legal requirements regarding licensing, health & safety, and employment are met

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively
Extensive restaurant experience with knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
Familiarity with culinary processes including food production and kitchen operations
Experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or bars is advantageous
Excellent leadership qualities with a focus on customer service excellence
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in service delivery and operational procedures

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
