At our Vertu Land Rover Exeter dealership, we have an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced Workshop Controller to join our successful and fast‑paced aftersales team.
£38,000 basic salary | OTE £43,000
The Role
This is one of the busiest and most critical roles within the dealership, responsible for the day-to-day control of a large workshop with over 25 technicians.
You will be accountable for planning, prioritising and allocating work to technicians, ensuring maximum productivity, efficient workflow and strict adherence to deadlines in a high-pressure, high-volume environment.
This role requires someone who is exceptionally organised, thrives under pressure, and is confident managing competing priorities throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Controlling and coordinating workflow across a large workshop operation
- Allocating work effectively to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
- Managing technician time, resources and job flow
- Ensuring all incoming work is planned accurately and delivered on time
- Maintaining high standards in a fast-paced dealership environment
Essential Requirements
✅ Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or similar senior workshop role
✅ Motor Trade background essential (workshop or senior technician level)
✅ Highly organised with the ability to work calmly under pressure
✅ Confident decision-maker in a time-critical environment
✅ Full, valid UK driving licence
This role is not suitable for candidates without workshop leadership experience.
