We are seeking a dedicated Regional Manager for our residential Children's Homes based in Deal. This pivotal role involves overseeing multiple homes, ensuring high standards of care, and supporting our mission to create a family-like environment for young people.
Job Description
- Regional Manager for children’s residential homes in the UK ensures high-quality, compliant care across multiple sites, supporting Registered Managers to meet Ofsted regulations. They oversee safeguarding, operational performance, and staff development, driving consistent, therapeutic care for vulnerable children. This senior role bridges operational management with strategic, legislative compliance.
- The postholder will receive regular supervision to support performance, development, and compliance with organisational standards.
- The role is subject to a six‑month probation period, during which objectives, competencies, and progress will be formally reviewed.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Manage multiple residential homes, ensuring they are "Ofsted ready" and fully compliant with Quality Standards and children's home regulations.
Quality Assurance: Monitor performance, conduct internal audits, and ensure high standards of care are maintained.
Manager Support & Development: Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance management to Registered Managers and staff.
Safeguarding & Welfare: Ensure all homes maintain a safe, nurturing environment and adhere strictly to safeguarding policies.
Financial & Resource Management: Oversee budgets, staffing levels, and maintenance of the physical environment across all Moonreach homes in Deal and currently one home in Leeds.
Strategic Planning: Drive improvements based on data, evidence-based practices, and developmental goals. Familiarise themselves with the policies, procedures, and portfolio of working documents which are required of Moonreach for statutory purposes.
Referral Process: Supporting the responsible individual with the children’s referral process.
Required Skills
Experience: 3 years minimum Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a children’s residential setting.
Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent) is required.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and safeguarding legislation.
Leadership: Ability to motivate teams, manage crises, and think strategically.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with external agencies (social workers, health services). The role is part of the Senior Management Team, focusing on delivering positive outcomes for children through effective leadership.
Required/Experience and Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years’ experience of management within a residential childcare setting.
Understanding of the statutory compliance requirements for Moonreach (Ofsted).
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management Residential Childcare or Children’s Services (or equivalent).
Demonstrated high level of organisational skills and multi-site management experience.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, confident to act as an ambassador for Moonreach as first point of call.
The Package
Head office is in Deal, Kent, there will be a need to travel to Leeds regularly to oversee one home, reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work in Deal (required).
This is a 3 days per week which can be flexible, on-site role that may a Registered Manager wanting to take the next step in their career.
The salary for these 3 days per week role is £34k - £37kpa (dependent upon experience) and 19 days paid annual leave.
