Job Advert Description

Central Referral Unit Manager

Role Purpose

The role provides an opportunity to work within a complex and challenging safeguarding environment, specialising in the protection of vulnerable people.

The Central Referral Unit (CRU) delivers a critical Force-wide safeguarding function, acting as the single point of assessment, research and coordination for all CID16 referrals, ensuring the effective sharing of information with partner agencies to support the protection of vulnerable people.

You will be required to demonstrate in your application the minimum requirement for the role:

Education, qualifications and relevant experience – Educated to degree standard or equivalent and/or significant relevant management experience within a safeguarding, public protection, criminal justice or multi-agency environment. Evidence of relevant professional qualifications and/or continuing professional development will be considered.
Safeguarding and vulnerability expertise – Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safeguarding principles, vulnerability management and the effective assessment and management of risk.
Leadership and people management – Experience of leading, managing and developing staff, including managing performance and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Risk assessment and decision making – Experience of making sound, evidence-based decisions in complex or high demand environments, including risk assessment, quality assurance and prioritisation.
Partnership and stakeholder management – Demonstrate experience of working effectively with internal and external partners, influencing stakeholders and developing effective multi-agency relationships.
Performance, governance and continuous improvement – Experience of monitoring performance, providing assurance, supporting effective governance and leading service improvement or organisational change.
Legislation, policy and information sharing – Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, safeguarding guidance, organisational policy and information sharing/data protections requirements.

The successful applicant will be based in a hub closest to their home address, in either St. Asaph, Llay or Caernarfon.

This post is temporary for 12 months subject to review.
