Head of Housekeeping
Wooladon Estate is seeking a proactive, positive, and friendly Head of Housekeeping to join our growing family-run business. Role Responsibilities
- Managing housekeeping rotas and staffing levels to suit business needs
- Coordinating laundry collection and delivery schedules
- Liaising with the maintenance team to ensure standards are consistently upheld
- Liaising with grounds maintenance to ensure outdoor areas and lawns are well maintained
- Assisting with and managing wedding and event set up and pack down
- Cleaning and maintaining our three function spaces, including our rustic wedding barn
- Upholding the highest standards across our newly refurbished country cottages and manor house
- Managing guest changeovers throughout the year using our SuperControl system
- Leading the housekeeping team to maintain exceptional cleanliness standards throughout the estate, including:
- Vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, and polishing
- Cleaning bathrooms and restocking supplies
- Spot cleaning glass, mirrors, walls, and fixtures
- Changing and resetting beds
- Ordering, organising, and maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies, liaising with our suppliers
- Maintaining cleanliness within staff rooms and office spaces
- Participating in guest check-ins and responding promptly and professionally to feedback
- Managing guest welcome packs and discount cards
- Monitoring property damage and inventory
- Carrying out additional duties when required to support the business
- Liaising with Estate Managers and Directors when necessary
Skills & Experience Required
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Friendly, reliable, and responsible attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with a strong eye for detail
- Previous housekeeping or supervisory experience
Working Hours
This is a permanent position with flexibility required to meet the needs of the business. Working days are flexible across 5 days per week, including weekends, with availability on Fridays, Sundays & Mondays essential. Average hours are approximately 35 hours per week, with additional hours available during the busy high season and reduced hours during quieter winter months.
