Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Butcher to join our team in a busy food production environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food safety to develop their skills within a professional setting. The successful candidate will support the butchery team in preparing high-quality meat products, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to food safety standards.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and processing of meat products, including trimming, portioning, and packaging
- Support the butchery team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations
- Ensure all food preparation activities comply with health and safety regulations
- Help with stock organisation, including inventory checks and storage of meat supplies
- Maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the workspace
- Assist in the delivery of excellent customer service when required
- Follow all food safety protocols during handling, storage, and presentation of products
Requirements
- Previous experience or training in food production, culinary arts, or butchery is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices within a food environment
- Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen setting is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Enthusiasm for learning about meat preparation and food processing techniques
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
