Full job description

Tidyco is a multi-divisional engineering company based in Derby, since 1973, and are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our current team.

Job Description:

We are currently looking to recruit a Caretaker / Facilities Technician to join us on a permanent basis. The role is to help ensure our premises are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe, clean, and secure environment for all users and to undertake general maintenance and cleaning.

Hours: Full Time

Responsibilities:

Carry out basic maintenance and repairs (e.g., changing lightbulbs, unblocking drains, painting, plumbing).
Assembling and disassembling (e.g. furniture, racking).
Ensure cleanliness of internal and external areas (e.g., sweeping paths, clearing rubbish, emptying bins).
Ensure pathways are safe during adverse weather (e.g., gritting in winter).
Routine landscaping of the grounds.
Conduct routine inspections of the building and grounds and report any repairs required.
Routine monthly checks on machinery, ladders, COSHH and water temperatures.
Support other areas of the business during busy periods.
Any other ad hoc duties as requested by the management team.

Skills:

Proven experience in a caretaker, facilities, or maintenance role.
Practical skills in DIY and basic maintenance.
Good understanding of health & safety regulations.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
The role involves manual handling and physical tasks; therefore the individual should be able to meet these requirements safely and effectively.
Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
Good communication skills.
Flexibility to work varied hours if required by the role.
Full clean driving licence.
Desirable – FLT/Counterbalance Licence and any other relevant qualifications (i.e. plumbing, electrical work, building maintenance).

Salary £27,320.

Due to the nature of the job all relevant PPE and overalls will be supplied.
